Always Wear a Seatbelt and Don’t Drive with Drunks
The above story is about my friend, who was ejected from a closed SUV sunroof after the driver (drunk) hit a retaining wall and flipped the car over. My friend was not wearing a seatbelt and suffered terrible injuries. She is in critical condition and is expected to take months to recover to a fully stable position, and years to actually physically recover from the accident, if that’s even possible.
As for the driver, this is supposedly his second DUI, and a felony, and he will likely be serving quite some time in prison. He also will have her injuries on his shoulders to deal with emotionally.
It is a terribly tragic incident, but serves as a reminder to us all that it is extremely important to make good decisions when in a vehicle, as one wrong move can change your (or someone else’s) life forever.
